- About Creator: From January to June, the balateiro goes into the forest to collect the sap of the balateira tree, making cuts in the trunk. During the rest of the year, he sells his produce and, if he has artistic gifts, models figures with the material. Darlindo was born in Monte Alegre (PA), in 1959, and currently lives in Belém, where he dedicates himself to producing these sculptures, depicting Amazonian animals and figures from the regional imagination.
