Painting by Josep Maria Tamburini i Dalmau, painter and art critic, representative of Catalan modernism. Tamburini began his career in historical painting and academic realism, but evolved towards symbolism with a strong influence from English pre-Raphaelitism. Here he portrays a young woman in an idealistic way, like an allegory or a nymph, using a colourful palette with a precious style.
